Structured, Secure and Scalable Infrastructure for Modern Data Centres

Racks & Cabling

HiTech Lab Solutions provides end-to-end rack and structured cabling solutions for data centres, server rooms, enterprise IT environments, educational institutions, research facilities, government organisations and high-performance computing centres. Our solutions are designed to improve equipment organisation, airflow, connectivity, maintainability and future scalability.

A well-planned rack and cabling system is essential for reliable data centre operations. Poor equipment placement, unmanaged cables and inadequate labelling can lead to restricted airflow, difficult maintenance, accidental disconnection and extended downtime. We therefore design every rack and cabling environment according to the customer’s equipment, network architecture, power requirements, room layout and expansion plans.

Server and Network Rack Solutions

We supply and install a wide range of rack systems for servers, storage platforms, network devices, GPU systems, telecom equipment and security infrastructure.

Our rack solutions include:

  • Server racks
  • Network racks
  • Open-frame racks
  • Wall-mounted racks
  • High-density racks
  • Soundproof racks
  • Outdoor racks
  • Custom rack enclosures
  • High-load racks for GPU and HPC systems
  • Rack accessories and cable managers
  • Rack-mounted power distribution units
  • KVM consoles and rack monitoring systems

Rack selection is based on equipment dimensions, weight, power density, cooling requirements, access control, cable volume and maintenance needs. We also consider rack depth, static load, dynamic load, perforation, door design, grounding and future equipment expansion.

Structured Copper Cabling

HiTech Lab Solutions provides professional copper cabling for data, voice, wireless, surveillance and management networks.

Our copper cabling services include CAT6, CAT6A, CAT7, CAT8 and other suitable cabling categories, depending on bandwidth, distance and application requirements. We install patch panels, information outlets, patch cords, cable trays, vertical managers, horizontal managers and termination accessories.

Every cable is properly routed, terminated, labelled and tested to support reliable communication and simplified troubleshooting.

Fibre-Optic Cabling

Modern data centres require high-speed connectivity between servers, storage systems, network switches, buildings and remote facilities. We design and deploy single-mode and multimode fibre-optic cabling based on distance, bandwidth and application needs.

Our fibre services include backbone cabling, rack-to-rack links, switch uplinks, storage connectivity, building interconnects and high-speed AI or HPC networks.

We also provide fibre distribution units, patch panels, pigtails, adapters, optical transceivers and tested fibre links.

Cable Management and Labelling

Proper cable management improves airflow, safety and serviceability. Our engineers plan separate pathways for power, copper data cables and fibre links to reduce interference and accidental damage.

We use vertical and horizontal cable managers, overhead trays, under-floor pathways, bend-radius protection, Velcro ties and structured routing methods.

All ports, cables, racks, patch panels and network devices are labelled according to a consistent identification scheme. Detailed cable records help technical teams locate connections quickly during maintenance or troubleshooting.

Installation, Testing and Certification

Our services cover rack positioning, rack levelling, equipment mounting, grounding, power distribution, copper termination, fibre splicing, patching and documentation.

After installation, we perform continuity testing, link-performance testing and fibre validation. Where required, cabling can be tested and certified according to the applicable performance category.

Our Approach to Racks & Cabling

Organised Infrastructure Built for Performance

At HiTech Lab Solutions, we follow a structured and engineering-focused approach to designing and implementing rack and structured cabling infrastructure. Our objective is to create an organised, secure, scalable and easy-to-maintain environment that supports reliable data centre operations and future expansion.

We begin by understanding the customer’s current and planned IT infrastructure. Our team reviews the number and type of servers, storage systems, network switches, firewalls, GPU systems, power equipment and security devices that must be installed.

We also assess equipment dimensions, weight, rack-unit requirements, power consumption, cooling needs, connectivity, maintenance access and projected growth. This helps us determine the correct rack quantity, size, depth, load capacity and internal arrangement.

Our engineers inspect the data centre, server room or network room to evaluate available floor space, room dimensions, access pathways, ceiling height, raised flooring, cable routes, electrical points and cooling arrangement.

Based on the survey, we prepare a rack layout that supports safe equipment access, hot and cold aisle formation, cable routing, power distribution and future expansion.

We also consider equipment movement, service clearances, emergency access and operational safety.

We select suitable server racks, network racks, open-frame racks, wall-mounted racks or high-density enclosures according to the application.

Rack selection considers:

  • Rack height, width and depth
  • Static and dynamic load capacity
  • Equipment airflow direction
  • Perforated door design
  • Security and access control
  • Cable-entry options
  • PDU mounting
  • Grounding provisions
  • Expansion requirements

The internal rack layout is planned to balance weight, improve airflow and simplify maintenance. Heavy equipment is generally positioned appropriately, while switches, patch panels, cable managers and PDUs are placed for safe and efficient access.

We develop a structured cabling plan based on the network topology, equipment locations, bandwidth requirements and future connectivity needs.

The cabling design may include copper data cabling, fibre-optic backbones, storage links, management networks, surveillance connections and inter-rack connectivity.

We define patch-panel locations, cable pathways, port allocation, fibre distribution points and termination standards before installation begins.

To improve safety and reduce interference, we plan separate routes for power cables, copper data cables and fibre-optic links.

Overhead trays, under-floor pathways, vertical managers and horizontal cable managers are selected according to the facility layout.

We also maintain suitable bend radius, cable support and service loops to avoid cable stress and simplify future modifications.

Our implementation team positions, levels and secures each rack according to the approved layout.

Racks are grounded properly, and doors, panels and accessories are checked for safe operation. Rack PDUs, cable managers, shelves, blanking panels, rails and other accessories are installed according to the equipment plan.

For high-density GPU or HPC systems, we verify floor loading, rack weight, power density and airflow before mounting the equipment.

Our engineers install, terminate and organise copper and fibre cabling using professional routing methods.

Copper cables are connected to patch panels, outlets and network devices, while fibre links are terminated, spliced and connected through suitable fibre distribution units.

All connections are installed carefully to avoid excessive tension, sharp bends and obstruction of airflow.

Every rack, device, cable, patch-panel port, fibre core and power connection is labelled according to a consistent identification system.

We prepare cable schedules, rack elevations, port maps and as-built records to help technical teams identify connections quickly.

Clear documentation reduces troubleshooting time, supports audits and makes future expansion easier.

After installation, we test all copper and fibre links for continuity, connectivity and performance.

Where required, structured cabling is certified according to the applicable category and performance standard. Fibre links may be tested for optical loss, polarity and end-to-end connectivity.

Any failed or underperforming link is corrected before commissioning.

After successful testing, we hand over the complete rack and cabling infrastructure with relevant drawings, records and test reports.

HiTech Lab Solutions can also support rack reorganisation, cable clean-up, equipment relocation, additional rack installation, new fibre links and capacity expansion.

Our approach ensures that every rack and cabling environment is carefully planned, professionally installed, clearly documented and prepared for reliable long-term operation.
